Evelyn Tan, 2013, Singapore
My name is Evelyn, or Eve, and I’m a Chinese radio DJ. I graduated from the School of Theology in 2013 and worked full-time in City Harvest Church for four years. Here’s a fun fact—I was an SOT staff who was responsible for operations and administration.
The transitioning from full-time ministry to the media industry was not an easy one. Very often, I encountered challenges and difficulties in my work; yet God’s grace was always more than sufficient for me (2 Cor 12:9). Not only that, the Lord opened doors of opportunities for me. Praise the Lord!
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, mental health has been a topic of great concern. Last year, I was admitted to the hospital, and it made me realise the importance of mental wellness. When the psychological pressures we face are beyond what we can bear, it can seriously affect our body and mind.
When I got the chance to do a brand-new podcast, God gave me the idea to share about mental health with my listeners. I want to invite you to tune in to my new podcast, “H2H with Eve”, to chat with psychologists, artists, and others about mental health-related topics.
I also want to encourage all SOT students to slow down together, listen to your “psychological condition”, and find that beautiful state of happiness and true joy in Jesus Christ.
