Introduction to the Old Testament

An introductory study of the books of the Old Testament with a focus on purpose, major themes, selected characters and events, and the theological contribution of each book informed by historical, social and cultural contexts. There will be an emphasis on understanding the hermeneutical principles to interpret the biblical text with an eye to inspire the student to integrate the lessons of Scripture into their own lives and ministry.

LANGUAGES AND INTERPRETATION
Lessons will be conducted in English, with Mandarin interpretation. Course notes and examinations will be in English, and Mandarin.
CREDIT VS AUDIT COURSE
The course may be taken for credit or audit.

Credit
Taking a course “for credit” means you are required to sit for an examination and complete the assignment(s). More details about the assignment(s) will be updated nearer to date. 3 credits will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. A digital certificate will be given within 3 weeks after the course.

Audit
Taking a course “for audit” means you are not required to sit for examination and there is no need to complete the assignment(s). Therefore, no credit will be given. A digital certificate of attendance will be given within 3 weeks after the course.

FEE STRUCTURE
S$108 (inclusive of GST)
